James Brown, MD, FACEP
Dr. Brown, one of the managing partners of EPSS, graduated from University of Illinois College of Medicine in 1994. He completed his Emergency Medicine residency in 1997 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, University of Illinois College of Medicine, Peoria, IL. He served as the Chief Resident from 1996-1997. Dr. Brown is board certified in Emergency Medicine, a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians, and a founding partner of Emergency Physician Staffing Solutions. He has 26 years of EM experience and 13 years of experience in Academic Emergency Medicine at OSF St. Francis Medical Center. While at OSF, he served on the ER Medical Executive Committee for multiple terms. Dr. Brown was elected by the Emergency Medicine Residents as Outstanding Teacher and Mentor of the Year seven times. He has special interests in Rural Emergency Medicine and has lectured extensively on various Emergency Medicine related topics, including Geriatric Trauma, Rural Trauma, Sexual Assault, and numerous EMS related topics.
As an EPSS physician, he is Medical Director at Mason District Hospital, Havana, IL, the Director of the EPSS In-patient Hospitalists program, and has served as President of the Medical Staff. He has participated on the Medical Executive Committee at Proctor Community Hospital (UnityPoint Health), Mason District Hospital, and McDonough District Hospital. He also works as an attending ER physician at all EPSS facilities.
