James Hubler M.D. J.D., FACEP FCLM

Dr. Hubler is a graduate of Southern Illinois University’s M.D. J.D. program, a combined six-year law and medicine program. Dr. Hubler is board-certified in emergency medicine and is a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) and a member of ACEP’s Medical Legal Committee. He is also a current board member of the American College of Legal Medicine.

Dr. Hubler, one of the managing partners, formed Emergency Physician Staffing Solutions (EPSS), which currently staffs eight hospitals in Central Illinois. He is currently the Medical Director of the Emergency Department at Carle Health – Pekin Hospital in Peoria, Illinois.
He has focused his medical legal background on risk reduction and improving patient safety and was the Executive Editor of the ED Legal Letter, a national risk management publication; he has written and lectured extensively on risk management issues in emergency medicine; and served as a risk consultant to The Sullivan Group. He has also lectured nationally and served as a consultant on EMTALA – The Emergency Medicine Treatment and Active Labor Act.
